Alison Blant
Alison Blant uses a combination of leather and raw materials to create her stylised sculptures of farm animals. Following a positive response to her degree show at Herefordshire College of Art & Design last year, Alison decided to set up in business and to create her sculptures for exhibition and to commission.

Alison grew up on a farm and feels a certain affinity with the animals from her childhood. "I see personalities in animals and like to exaggerate their expressions and put a quirky twist to the characteristics I see."

Alison uses a combination of new and recycled leather, she uses aged leather from old sofas or even car seats. She patches together a small hide and then sets about creating the animal, utilising a combination of both machine and hand sewing.
