Ceramic Showcase - 1st February - 28th April

Victoria & Michael Eden

Victoria & Michael Eden married and started a small pottery making slipware in 1981.
They make slip-decorated earthenware, searching for bold, simple, thrown forms with a harmony of shape, natural colour and restrained decoration.
They aim to capture the warmth of colour, liveliness of line and sense of humour that so characterised slipware in the past, combined with their own innovative designs reflecting personal interests and elements of contemporary life.

Victoria & Michael are the authors of various articles and the book 'Slipware, Contemporary Approaches', published in 1999 by A & C Black.

Also, they are regularly invited to give demonstrations as guest potters around the country and abroad, such as:
1993 Kresz Maria Foundation, Budapest, Hungary
1996 Scottish Potters Association, Dumfries
1997 East Anglia Potters Association
2000 Northern Potters Association

Examples of their work is held in many public collections, including: Stoke on Trent City Art Gallery and Museum; Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge; Bowes Museum, Barnard Castle; Kresz Maria Foundation, Budapest.
