Louise
Gibb introduces her new range of pots, platters, jugs and bowls which
she has called "Kitchen Conversations". They are crafted from
moulded and hand thrown white stoneware clay which is then decorated
with various slips and under-glazes, often working on more richly decorated
pieces between firings to adjust and accentuate the colours and image.
Louise works from drawings or photographs of interesting utensils that
she has collected, often from charity shops.

"Everyone
uses the objects that I decorate my dishes and platters with - the salad
servers, the slice or the garlic crusher - they are friends to us all
in the kitchen!
I enjoy looking at kitchen utensils as they have interesting forms being designated by their function and frequently convey themselves as amusing characters. I appreciate the subtle way they have evolved design wise over the years by telling us what specific decade they belong to either by their colours, materials, or the production techniques used in their manufacture. Kitchen utensils can be charming, elegant and frequently witty." |

![]() "Still Life with Dancing Tongs" Wall Plaque (45 x 35cm) This simple and evocative style has the status of being ironic and so elegant, yet remains wholly contemporary. Louise's tableware is playful and enticingly nostalgic. |
