‘Collect’ intends to feature four prolific and well-known ceramicists that have exhibited here at The Craft Centre and Design Gallery in the past.

Displayed in our prestigious Ceramic Showcase, our selection of highly collectable pieces will appeal to those already collecting such works and for those who wish to start their very own new collection.

Thrown and burnished ceramics using layers of a fine terra-sigillata slip with resist and inlay decoration. Smoke firing the pieces achieves wonderfully bright colours and make up Duncan’s distinctive and appealing style.
Beautiful hand built ceramics from this renowned maker. Burnishing of the pieces achieves a tactile sensual surface. Recent pieces have incorporated texture thus creating a contrast between the rough and the smooth.

Distinguished potter Walter Keeler presents to us a wonderful collection of salt glazed ceramics. His finely crafted teapots have come to symbolise the Keeler style, as well as his other functional items such as dishes and mugs.
  
Decorative and functional tableware with wonderfully colourful and imaginative surface patterns. The pieces are directly influenced in shape by the food that they are intended for.
 

An exquisite collection of work from some of the most distinguished potters the country has seen.  Supported by technical information and with each maker given individual recognition this celebratory exhibition will be sure to leave visitors in awe of such wonderful talent.
