Educational Service
We aim to educate through events and activities that are arranged
to accompany our lively exhibition programme. They are geared
to help the community to become more confident in their understanding
of contemporary craft. Through our educational service we intend
to unleash creativity, encouraging the public to explore their
own creative potential and ultimately inspire them to pursue careers
in the creative industry.
We strive to cater for all the community and are continually extending
and developing the services that we offer. We can work with students,
school children, specialist groups and organisations; we do not
wish to exclude anyone.
Lectures and Talks presented by designers provide an informative
insight into a maker's lifestyle, inspirations, experiences and
the techniques that they use.
New Designers Seminars can be organised on request (advance
notice required). Students and those that have recently graduated
can benefit from the knowledge of our Educational Co-ordinator.
A designer herself, she is equipped to share her experiences,
whilst offering first hand information and advice required when
dealing with galleries and on becoming a professional maker.
Workshops and Demonstrations can be arranged and are delivered
by practising designers and gallery staff. We are able to work
externally with schools and other institutions upon request and
subject to availability.
Group Visits to the gallery are welcomed with prior arrangement.
Specific information / requirements must be requested in advance.
