A small group of ceramists who are inspired by the canine form were invited to take part in an exhibition at the gallery.
"A New Breed" was held from Saturday 2nd November 2001 until Saturday 12th January 2002.

A lecture entitled "Doggie Tales" was arranged to accompany this exhibition.
Catrin Howell and Virginia Dowe talked about their work from 1.00 - 2.00pm on Tuesday 13th November. The lecture was open to all at a nominal fee of £1.00 and was situated in Leeds City Art Gallery Lecture Theatre.
