'Flora and Fauna'

'Flora and Fauna' intends to represent a varied yet high profile selection of work that has been successfully inspired by the natural world around us.
Ten jewellers provide this showcase with an array of beautifully crafted pieces including; Shimara Carlow's tactile and organic forms, Charlie High's highly textured silver and oxidised silver pieces, Marion Kane's silver jewellery inspired by the winter branches of coastal trees and the ever changing markings in the sand, hand dyed anodised aluminium jewellery reflecting the dramatic landscapes of the North Yorkshire Moors by Lynne Glazzard, Zelda Wong's beautifully crafted silver work detailing flowers which include the use of semi-precious stones, Jessica Sherriff's wonderfully colourful acrylic jewellery with natural designs on them, Grainne Morton's inspirational work made from found objects creating a quirky collection, Shivani Patel's beautiful pierced jewellery using silver and precious stones, pod like forms from Loretta Harmer using gold, silver and pearls and the magical collection of work by Lucy Coyne who layers flower petals encased in acetate which responds beautifully with movement and light.

Also featuring quirky and vibrant ceramics by Gemli Ferguson, glasswork exploring textures and colours in an organic fashion by Sarah Wiberley, Deirdre Hawthorne's sculptural ceramic vessels developed from landscapes and specific seashores, porcelain tableware inspired by oriental ceramics from Rachel Holian, Gwen Bainbridge's bone china and porcelain collection of bowls, vessels and vases using fabrics and buttons to embellish and make marks on the surface, Jill Ford's contemporary porcelain wallpieces and bowls depicting strikingly beautiful areas of the East Riding of Yorkshire, Kim Norton's ceramics with sweeping folds and curves creating organic forms, Fiona Gall's wire pieces inspired by organic linear forms like flowers and cob webs, screenprinted wallpieces by Sarah Roberts who is intrigued by natural shapes and forms and the shadows they create and finally beautiful wallpieces by Michelle McKinney using translucent woven metals, stainless steel, copper and brass depicting such things as butterflies in flight and clusters of leaves.
