Ceramics
Inspiration is taken from the natural surroundings of the Gower Peninsular as a starting point for the ceramic vessels of Kirsty Guise. Kirsty either casts or hand builds using smooth clay and decorates with a raku glaze and gold or silver leaf. Sarah Tanner uses the interplay between land and sea as a basis for her work. She looks at the rhythmical motion created as the sea washes in and out, and tries to capture these traces of movement in the liquidity of plaster as it is spun wet in a manner akin to throwing. |
