This enchanting showcase featuring a collection of fine, well established jewellers is to compliment the exhibition "Recollection".

Drawing from Childhood features five jewellers,
Deborah Edwards, Julie Arkell, Amanda Coleman, Abbott & Ellwood and Bronwyn Tyler Jones.

 

The five jewellers were chosen as their jewellery is reflective of childrens drawings, especially the simplified line drawings and topics which children choose to depict which can be quirky, humorous and occasionally sophisticated!

 

Amanda Coleman produces photo etched jewellery featuring iconic imagery which tell many stories and enact responses from both the designer and the wearer.

Air Fresheners by Bronwyn Tyler Jones

 

Also exhibiting is Abbott & Ellwood, (a partnership) whose fresh creative outlook has earned them many commissions, their recent collections of jewellery and clocks with bold but sophisticated use of colour and humour accentuate the simple concepts of old tin toys.


Finally Bronwyn Tyler Jones will display her wonderful metal inventions which are witty, animated and interactive.

Julie Arkell is exhibiting in both Recollection and Drawing from Childhood as her work encompasses both jewellery and three dimensional pieces.

 

Each designer due to their inspiration, sentimentally considers their own work and plays on the understanding that each piece becomes personal and precious to the owner through their own associations, memories and emotions. This then enhances each individual piece and gives it a timeless quality.
