Jewellery Showcase

1st September - 31st October

Leah Bain and Pauline Montgomery

Leah Bain

Upon graduating with a BA (hons) in Jewellery from Edinburgh College of Art, Leah Bain was invited to remain at the college for a year as Artist in Residence.

"The clean cut geometrical shapes of industrial machinery have inspired this collection. The pieces encourage the wearer to view the jewellery as more than just decorative ornaments but as tactile objects with the suggestion of movement.
The combination of precious metals and perspex add to the jewellery's versatility, enhanced by light and colour."

Pauline Montgomery

Fun quirky jewellery made to make you smile!
"My work is primarily based on planes, insects, boats and movement. The jewellery is meant to be played with - it is fun and quirky. I want people to discover the moving parts of the jewellery for themselves by exploring the pieces. Most pieces have a kinetic area to them, spinning propellers, rolling ladybirds etc."

Materials used include 18ct gold, silver and acrylic.
