Dot
Sim, Angela Fung, Sally Moore, Lyndsey Bain and Melanie Allan
create kinetic jewellery which is 'fun to make and fun to wear'.
Dot Sim chooses to make dramatic jewellery from precious metals with an element of movement and tactility. She designs the pieces to be handled and played with like worry beads to relieve stress. Lindsey Bain describes her work as 'Toys for Hands'. Currently working as artist in residence at Edinburgh College of Art, she believes that good design is very important and continues to develop inventive approaches to making. |

Melanie
Allan looks to natural forms such as mushrooms and plants as the primary
inspiration for her 'secrets' and 'pod' ranges of jewellery.
These ranges consist of container necklaces where each container reveals or conceals secrets, simply waiting to be discovered. |

Each maker has been chosen for the innovative way in which they combine materials. By layering precious metals and contrasting elements, they all succeed in creating adaptable or interchangeable pieces that beg to be touched and played with. |
