Keeble and Mayes

7th March - 27th June 2015

Group print exhibition with Victoria Keeble and Emerson Mayes.

Victoria and Emerson showcase their limited edition collagraphs and drypoint prints in this exploration of animals in their natural habitats; expect to see birds circling and swooping, hares bounding and crouching in long grass and a truly enchanting collection to inspire you.

Victoria’s work is mainly illustrative and incorporates a love of pattern and texture.  Her subject matter is often influenced by classic legends and fairy tales, typically featuring natural forms, animals, birds and mythical beasts.

Emerson has enjoyed a growing reputation for a fresh, honest and uncontrived approach to his work.

With his roots firmly in the British landscape tradition, Emerson's work reflects his  obvious passion for this vast and complex subject.  Although he strives to  achieve a direct response, he is never tied down by the 'topographical' elements  in the landscape.  He says, 'it's the emotional reaction and that sense of place that's most  important in a finished piece, not whether a tree is inexactly the right place'.
