Nineteen designers come together in this showcase of talented makers all producing work that is beautifully accomplished and charming. From sculptural crochet silver wire jewellery by Sue Bull to quirky silver jewellery inspired by nature and love from Heather Scott, our chosen designers have something for everyone. Kate Rhodes showcases her jewellery made from a colourful range of metals inspired by everyday doodling and Rosie Bill shows her jewellery of setting old broken pieces of pottery into silver creating a contemporary collection. Judith Brown’s hand stitched wire jewellery uses vintage beads creating an elegant and charming range of items. This vintage theme runs through the work of Kate Hamilton-Hunter and Nia Roberts collectively known as ‘The Contemporary Design Company’ whose work uses vintage tin, silver and titanium.
Julie Roberts showcases simple organic paper vessels and mirrors, Stacey Manser-Knight hand thrown ceramics decorated with cakes, strawberries and flowers, and Lynn Walters metal and wire sculptures capturing places and moments in time. Katie McCulloch’s ceramics show inspiration from the colours and textures of the Northumberland coast, and Gail Mahon’s ceramics show a distinctive mix of texture, colour and form layered with quirky and playful visual images and text.
