Piers
Browne began a classical training in 1975 with the Royal Academy,
where he won the David Murray Landscape Prize twice. Between
art schools he traveled widely, as far as Africa, Iceland
and Poland, and resided in Sicily for a while, drawing in
cafes, copying in major Art Galleries, including the Louvre,
while being allowed to paint in the private garden of the
Pope!
Settling
in Wensleydale in the heart of the Pennines, Piers became
awed by the panoramic landscape with its many outlines and
seasons, declaring 'still encourages an abiding inspiration
in such beauty'.
