Print Exhibition - Mychael Barratt
1st July - 31st October 2002
Mychael Barratt was born in Toronto, Canada and has been living and working in London, UK since 1984. Upon arriving in London Mychael worked for many years as a freelance illustrator. He studied etching at Central St Martins School of Art and became a full time printmaker in 1991.

Mychael's prints reflect his passion for literature, theatre and film. Narrative themes and an irreverent sense of humour run through all of his work with inspiration drawn from sources as diverse as fairy tales and Shakespearean dramas to paintings by Great Masters and 1960's pop culture.

In 1991 he became a commissioned artist for Liberty on Regent Street. Mychael has taken part in a number of group shows there over the years and his Shakespeare prints were the inspiration for a storewide show for which he also did the window display.

His work has been included in "Images", an illustration annual and one of his etchings was used in "Encyclopaedia of Printmaking Techniques" published by Headline and also appeared on the cover. He was recently commissioned to write an article on etching by "Art Business Today".

Mychael's prints will be displayed in sixteen frames from 1st July until the end of October 2002. The prints are sold as unframed and cannot be taken away until the end of the exhibition.
Following the exhibition, a good selection of Mychael's prints will continue to be on sale from the print browsers.
