Pip Carpenter
1st March - 30th June

Pip Carpenter is a printmaker creating work from a range of different techniques and media; from etchings, drypoints and collagraphs to hand finished monoprints.
She is a member of the Greenwich, Half Moon and South Bank Printmakers. Pip initially trained at Liverpool and Camberwell and became Senior Lecturer at Middlesex University before leaving to become a full time artist.

Pip's work is featured in numerous publications, including 'The Encyclopaedia of Printmaking Techniques' and 'The complete Drawing Course'. Her work is in several public and private collections and she has made many commissions and corporate sales, including specific works for P&O Cruise Line, John Lewis Partnership and the Palace of Westminster.

She is a remarkable artist who initially makes work directly from the subject in order to portray the immediacy and spontaneity of the colourfully interpreted landscape.
This particular exhibition will concentrate on the minutia and panorama of landscape, accentuating the differences in scale and the combination of the two ideas.

Pip is particularly inspired by the elemental components that evoke mood and feeling, wind and rain, sun and drought, night and day, time and tide. These images are vibrant and textural; using an array of bright and intense clours to accentuate the contours and lines of the landscape and pull into focus the most compelling features and details.

Pip Carpenter's work is strikingly bold and this exhibition should give a great insight into the expressive work of this very talented artist.
