Ring - showcase

24th January - end of March 2009

Our annual striking ring exhibition has been researched to include ten established jewellers and their ring designs.  ‘Rings’ will explore the technical and aesthetic qualities in this jewellery item and bring together a diverse collection for our viewers to admire.

Kate Hodgson will be showcasing her designs in rich yellows and warm rose 18ct golds.  A wonderful contrast against other designs in bright silvers and oxidised silver making strong and stunning statements.
Susanna Hanl’s distinctive one-off collections of rings show a unique collection in silver, gold and precious and semi-precious stones, as well as utilising freshwater pearls, cut and rough diamonds.
Alison Macleod makes reference to the intense decoration found in Victorian jewellery and employs a wide range of materials and techniques to her ring designs.  Silver, gold, semi-precious stones and found objects make this an intriguing collection.
Sally Grant’s collection of rings shows intricate patterns found in the natural world captured in silver and 18ct gold.  This dramatic and opulent collection features beautiful gemstones.
A wonderful collection of rings by Emma Farquharson with a diverse selection of unusual stones including Pink Kunzite, Mandarin Garnet and Peruvian Opal.
Tanya Krackowizer’s strong and contemporary collection of rings made from silver and 18ct gold mixing these two materials together creating a wonderful contrast.
Shimara Carlow’s rings have been inspired by natural forms, primarily seed pods, showing a tactile and organic quality to the ring collection made from silver and gold.
Nick Hubbard’s rings are figurative and whimsical often bearing small messages of hope and affection.  Primarily made from silver and oxidised silver, many of the rings have moving parts and small doors that open to reveal fine gold detail.
Mackay and Pearson offer a wide range of rings made from silver and gold with precious and semi-precious stones.  Their distinctive style makes them a popular choice for wedding and engagement rings, as well as rings suitable for everyday wear.

Alexis Dove’s beautiful stacking rings made from gold and silver incorporate precious and semi-precious stones and reveal a stunning colourful range.
