In The Spotlight

3rd - 31st October - Glass made art by
Clare and Paul Chapman
for Putsch

Putsch was formed in early Summer 1999 by an architect, a business consultant and two designer makers. After much discussion, research and excitement a studio was established just before Christmas of the same year.

Putsch offer a unique range of glass from studio pieces to furniture and architectural projects. Through a process of experimentation, and with an emphasis on hand made, the resulting work is of a diverse nature and high quality.

The "Original Series" is exclusively hand made by Clare Chapman and reflects her interest in complementary composition, Japanese design and minimal style. A complex casting process is used to create the glass and aluminium components of this distinctive series.

"Med Series" is the latest work by Paul Chapman reflecting his interest in Mediterranean colour and lifestyle. Enamels are layered onto carefully selected coloured glass resulting in a rich and unique palette. These particular pieces unite substantial scale, stunning visual design and a fundamental format.
One colour base with two layer fused glass and applied enamels.
Serene colour, form and instinctive marks are combined to create one off pieces.

Putsch are : Lynne and Alfredo Fornieles and Clare and Paul Chapman.
