A word from Sarah Du Feu:

"I am a Yorkshire based artist and printmaker.  My Still Life works, despite containing recurrent vase, jug and bowl motifs are a study in form, colour and the relationships between these elements much as a landscape would be.  I love building up the layers of colour and imagery until the composition and colours are working well.  Some of the prints are made up of many layers, some may only have two or three.  There are various processes employed in the making of these prints and paintings including monoprinting with lino and stencils, etching, screen-printing, digital grounds, and oil painting.  As well as making art I work as a Principal Learning Officer and Part Time Lecturer at Leeds Beckett University teaching printmaking."

Did you know:  Sarah's Still Life prints are influenced by both Georgio Morandi and William Bailey, two of Sarah’s art heroes.

Prints by Sarah Du Feu & Vicky Oldfield

A word from Vicky Oldfield:

"I am continually inspired by plants, objects and the animals that surround me; my pictures being an atmospheric response to the beauty and drama of my daily life.  My images are created using collagraphs; an experimental form of printmaking.  The prints are taken from plates which have been collaged with a variety of materials, card, fabric, paper, string, sand and anything else that may come to hand; it’s recycling at it’s most creative!  The plates are then sealed and then inked up and printed in intaglio or relief on damp paper using an etching press.  The embossed textural quality of the print is unique to this method.  Thanks to the process itself, I am able to make small editions of the image, the editions are variable due to the process and my desire to experiment, which means each print is unique.

Did you know:  Vicky has worked as a freelance designer/illustrator in recent years with clients including, Villeroy and Boch, Dorma, Crown, The British Museum and Wedgewood.  Before freelancing she worked as a studio designer for Triodes International in Paris and Crown Wallcoverings in London.
