Wedding Gift Service - Terms and Conditions

How much does it cost to set up a gift list at The Craft Centre & Design Gallery?

The Craft Centre & Design Gallery have decided to offer this service, at customer request, free of charge to all customers who are planning their wedding day.

How does the Wedding Gift Service work?
The Wedding Gift Service at The Craft Centre & Design Gallery is intended as a "wish list". It is your chance to own an original piece of art and will enable your close friends and family the chance to purchase a gift that they can be assured will become a treasured possession, collector's item or heirloom.
We do not expect that your gift list held at The Craft Centre & Design Gallery will be your only list but in addition to a list held at a more traditional store.
We expect that your list will comprise of a maximum of ten items, listed in order of preference.

What do we need to do?
The Bride and Groom are asked to make an appointment at the gallery. Appointments are available on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. To make an appointment, visit the gallery and speak to a member of staff, call 0113 2478241 or email information@craftcentreleeds.co.uk
.
We recommend that this meeting will be within three months of your wedding day.

What will happen at the appointment?
At the appointment (which may last up to one hour) a member of staff will be at your disposal to help you choose the items that will make up your list. We will ask you to choose a maximum of ten items, each with a value of £100.00 or above. The items will be listed in order of preference, number one being your most desired choice. In the event that a guest does not want to purchase an item from your list, we will ask you to indicate two or three ranges of work that you like and would be happy with any item from that range. The items on your gift list will be reserved on your behalf for a period of two months. The work on display in the gallery changes often and new exhibitions start at regular intervals throughout the year, so it would be possible to update or add to your list at a later date.

What items are available?
You can make your selection from the many items priced at £100 or above on display at The Craft Centre & Design Gallery.

Can I add something to my list that is not on display in the gallery?
It would be possible to order or commission an item from a designer. There may be a waiting time dependent upon the designers availability.

How will my guests know about my gift list?
The gallery will issue you with notification cards to inform your close family and friends that your gift list is held at The Craft Centre & Design Gallery. We will require you to estimate how many people will require notification of the gift list.

If we want something expensive, can our guests contribute towards it?
We anticipate that a number of purchases will be made by a group of guests however we would require the group to organise themselves and then to approach the gallery. If a purchase is to be made by a group, we will expect the group to cover the cost of an item in full as the gallery cannot accommodate any shortfall.

What will The Craft Centre & Design Gallery do?
We will prepare your list and send you a copy to check that the details are correct. If everything is correct, then your list will be ready to receive orders. A copy of your list will be available on our website
along with colour pictures and further information.

How will guests make a purchase?
Guests may make a purchase by visiting the gallery in person, where we accept all major credit cards, cash and cheques. Or by making a reservation over the phone or by email, we are unable to accept payment by mail order so we will reserve an item and ask for a cheque to be sent through the post. All cheques are to be made payable to "The Craft Centre & Design Gallery".
As the items on the list are expensive, we expect that most purchases will be made by a group of guests. The group would need to organise themselves and cover the cost of an item in full. We can accept payment from a representative on behalf of the group or we could accept payment from each individual of an equal share.
The Interest Free Credit Art Loan scheme may be available to individuals for purchases above £100.00. This scheme enables a customer to purchase an original piece of art and spread the cost over a period of ten months.

The purchaser's name and a personal message will be taken at the time of purchase. These will be forwarded to the bride and groom for their wedding day and another copy will be included with the gifts.

Once an item has been purchased it will be removed from the list.

Collection?
Guests may take their gifts away with them at the time of purchase or they may prefer to leave for the Bride and Groom to collect. The Craft Centre & Design Gallery cannot arrange for the delivery of items due to their fragile nature. The items will be wrapped and boxed for safe transportation along with a list of who has bought you what and the messages from each guest. The gallery will store your gifts for a maximum period of four weeks after your wedding day.

Returns?
As you will have chosen all items on your list there will be no need for returns or exchanges. The Craft Centre & Design Gallery does not give refunds but in the event that an item is faulty or damaged the gallery will arrange for a replacement item from the designer.
