Manifest

21st October - 28th November 2015

About Manifest

Manifest is a touring exhibition of jewellery designed for the hand to celebrate forty years of extraordinary jewellery designed and handmade in Britain by past and present members of the Designer Jewellers Group.  Manifest is a selling exhibition and all pieces are for sale.

Manifest will feature works by new jewellers, award winners and internationally exhibited makers and encompass bangles, rings, bracelets and cufflinks in materials as diverse as rubies, straw, silver, Perspex, gold, silk, porcelain and polypropylene.  The exhibition will enthral the viewer with jewels inspired by German folklore and fairy tales, Oscar Wilde and metamorphosis.  Unique, one-off commemorative pieces and limited editions will range from the personal to the whimsical, and will incorporate symbolism and numerology, metaphor and memory.

Each designer will submit one key piece for the exhibition, as photographed above.

About the Designer Jewellers Group

The Designer Jewellers Group was founded in 1975 as a collective that has been exhibiting and promoting the work of it's members for forty years.

Manifest is a project to celebrate this milestone achievement.

Individuality of design and professional standards of craftsmanship are hallmarks of the Designer Jewellers Group and all it's members are designer makers.  Work is made in various materials using a vast array of techniques and Designer Jewellers Group jewellers are often commissioned to make bespoke items or pieces for special projects and occasions.

Designer Jewellers Group members also exhibit independently at fairs and in galleries and museums throughout the United Kingdom, as well as internationally, and have made important contributions in the publishing and teaching worlds.  Currently the Designer Jewellers Group exhibits twice yearly at the Barbican Centre in London, sometimes with invited guests.  Each year they offers six graduate jewellery designers a platform for launching their work in a professional retail exhibition environment at this internationally renowned venue.
