"I Love What I Do." Lastnight's TV appearance on Made in Leeds TV

Gin Durham: "My work is about memories of childhood stories, things that people can connect with...I love what I do."

When asked if Gin imagined her animal creations from a certain scene or story she replied "Absolutely! All of my pieces are individually made, hand built from scratch." The fox she holds in the programme was based on the fox in Aesop's Fables with the crow and the hares are featured in all sorts of folklores and stories. Made in Leeds presenter Charlie Maloney then moved on to talk about one of her biggest pieces to date, the giant hare: "Ah, this one has scale" joked Gin.

"I know the first time i touched clay i absolutely loved it. It's a passion and you never stop learning. And next for Gin? "Exploring really. As an illustrator i have drawn an awful lot of equestrian type pieces and i would really love to explore that with clay in a 3D format."

Artistic Director for the past 27 years, Hayley Walker then spoke of the Craft Centre as a must-see attraction especially in light of major refurbishment taking place in The Leeds City Art Gallery upstairs from The Craft Centre. "It's an opportunity for visitors to educate themselves about contemporary craft and a place offering culture when the Art Gallery is closed. We've always got lots on here; every 3 months the whole gallery changes. It's a very flexible system where we can change work all of the time so there's always something fresh to see. All unique, all handmade and all collectable." All of the items displayed in the gallery are for sale and with Own Art being on offer for items over £100 it makes buying art affordable for everyone.

You can see the work of Gin Durham in her Solo Ceramic Showcase up to the 30th April and lots more besides on display.
